CITI implemented and configured Enterprise Search to integrate seamlessly with the existing our client’s core infrastructure. Employees are able to perform queries against a variety of railroads-related resources, including content, processes, people, and relevant data, helping them access critical information and resources more quickly. Role-based security features allows for quick retrieval of railroad information in a more secure environment.
In our client’s, we have worked with other Bureaus to create custom search scopes and key words search within their Site Collections. Though the scopes were initiated by the users, we incorporated the changes in Shared Services.
Within CITILink we have deployed MOSS enterprise search capabilities. We have configured our search solution to index shared drives, exchange servers, SharePoint sites, web sites, and business data catalog. We have optimized the crawling times by creating dedicated web front ends for crawling and the response time by implementing the query functionality on each web front end. We have created custom crawl rules to index sensitive material while maintaining a high level of security. We modified the default search feature and created new result pages to account for our corporate metadata and taxonomy and we have created our internal SharePoint files for noise words and thesaurus. Additionally within CITILink we also integrated FAST search engine (http://www.fastsearch.com) to query data included in other applications. |
